Learning to Live and Lead Differently

Did Someone Say Pivot...

Pivot might be the most overused word of the pandemic. I've been talking about pivots way before 2019.

In fact, I specialize in supporting my clients in finding the courage to make pivots.

And yes...The Think Good Company is making a pivot.

Over the past two years, I’ve struggled a bit with how to integrate my two brands; The Think Good Company and Think Courageously.

I’ve meditated about it. Scratched my head about it. Created mind maps about it.

And tada... I’m excited to share that I figured it out!

The tag line for Think Good has always been... igniting potential in people in organizations. Which is fine...but not at the core of the work that I do.

I’ve been observing people as they have navigated each new normal in the last 16 months.

And I have seen what the universal struggles are for my clients.

I don't know about you, but I’ve noticed some strange new disturbing behaviors. These dangerous little niggles are raising their ugly little heads as we re-open.

I don’t know about you, but I have been seeing people behaving badly…

People are more aggressive. Road rage is out of control. No patience...for anything. Civility is on the decline, rugged individualism is on the increase.

My theory...we are coming out of a time of self-preservation and we ARE DONE with this patience thing.

But is this really how we want to show up?

In March of 2019, at the start of the pandemic, we were in this thing together. We created new ways of being. We celebrated front-line workers with parades. We learned patience.

Leaders became more intentional in connecting with their teams. Morning huddles. Weekly meetings. Check-ins. Navigating ZOOM with babies and pets.

Managers who never met regularly with their teams were forced to do so because of the pandemic. Although we were all living in a state of fear and anxiety, I saw compassion and courage leading the way.

It saddens me that people have short memories.

We’ve come out on the other side of this epic period of history with more anxiety and overwhelm. There is more dissatisfaction in the workplace. Mixed messages are eroding trust.

I say...it’s time. Time to take the positive people lessons from COVID and learn to live and lead differently.

Enter my pivot. And it’s subtle. The Think Good Company mission is evolving. Yes, I’m going to continue to ignite potential.

I’ve discovered an even higher calling. A movement where COURAGE and COMPASSION is cultivated in people and organizations.

Moving forward, I’ll be producing one bi-weekly newsletter. This newsletter will encompass all things that challenge you to Think Good. I’ll share insights on leadership focused on courage and compassion. I’ll share upcoming events. You'll hear inspiring stories from my podcast. I'll keep you updated on new programs that will support you and your team in thinking courageously and with compassion.
